Alcoholic Book Bouncer

Does anyone know a good recipe for Sangria (red preferably)? I've got a hankering, and if I have another another customer to customer screaming match errupt in my store again anytime soon I want to have something cold and alcoholic to come home to.

That or a bouncer. A book bouncer would be cool, too.

Sangria
This recipe is said to come from a famous Spanish restaurant in Baltimore...

Ingredients:
1 Red Apple
1 Orange
1 Lemon
1 Lime
3 tablespoons sugar (or honey)
3 oz. Triple Sec
3 oz. Brandy
2 bottles red -- or white -- wine (or one 1.5L)
Ice Cubes
Club soda (optional)

Slice fruit, put it in a 2-quart pitcher and fill the pitcher with ice cubes.

Add sugar, triple sec and brandy — stir with a wooden spoon and pour wine in to fill the pitcher.

Work the spoon up and down hard enough to crush fruit and mix thoroughly.

Add a dash of club soda before serving for sparkle.

Adjust sugar to taste.

Recipe taken from http://www.chesapeakewine.com. The restaurant mentioned may be Tio Pepe's, a Baltimore institution.

From epicurious.com:

SANGRIA
2 gallons Zinfandel
1 cup brandy
1/2 cup Cointreau
2 quarts orange juice
2 cups lemon juice
1 cup superfine sugar
12 to 16 ice cubes
2 quarts chilled club soda
3 oranges, thinly sliced
3 lemons, thinly sliced

Thoroughly chill all ingredients. Pour the wine, brandy and Cointreau into a large punch bowl. Stir orange and lemon juice with the sugar until sugar has dissolved. Then add to bowl and stir to blend. Add ice cubes and soda and garnish with fruit slices. Serve in 4-ounce punch glasses or wineglasses.

Forget the Sangria recipe--can we please have that story? What could two customers possibly be screaming about?

They both wanted the very last copy ever of Da Vinci Code?

Nah, couldn't be that...

For a quicker fix, you can buy bottled "sangria" at the grocery or liquor store. Don't drink it straight though (yuck); mix it half-and-half with red wine. Add fruit if you have it, ice if you don't.

Enjoy. And yes, do tell!

No kidding! I know your store is in an urban area, but in all the hours I've spent in all the bookstores around here, I can honestly say I've NEVER seen a customer-to-customr screaming match. And you say it's "another" one?

Do tell, indeed!
